A fire broke out on Monday at a jhut (garment waste) warehouse in the Ambag area under Konabari Police Station in Gazipur. According to the Fire Service, the fire broke out around 1:15 pm. Three units, including two from the Konabari Fire Station, rushed to the spot upon receiving the information and began working to bring the blaze under control. Mohammad Mamun, Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service, said the fire originated in a jhut warehouse and quickly spread around the area. However, no casualties have been reported so far in connection with the incident. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are still unknown, he added.

গাজীপুরের কোনাবাড়ী থানার অন্তর্গত আমবাগ এলাকায় সোমবার ( ৯ মে) একটি ঝুট গোডাউনে আগুন লেগেছে। ফায়ার সার্ভিস সূত্রে জানা গেছে, দুপুর আনুমানিক ১টা ১৫ মিনিটে আগুনের সূত্রপাত হয়। ঘটনার খবর পেয়ে কোনাবাড়ী ফায়ার স্টেশনের দুটি ইউনিটসহ মোট তিনটি ইউনিট ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ শুরু করে। গাজীপুর ফায়ার সার্ভিসের উপসহকারী পরিচালক মোহাম্মদ মামুন জানান, একটি ঝুট গোডাউন থেকে আগুনের সূত্রপাত হয় এবং তা দ্রুত আশপাশে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। তবে এ ঘটনায় এখন পর্যন্ত কোনো হতাহতের খবর পাওয়া যায়নি। তিনি আরও জানান, আগুন লাগার সঠিক কারণ ও ক্ষয়ক্ষতির পরিমাণ এখনও জানা যায়নি।
