Fire erupts at Karnaphuli EPZ, 8 fire units deployed

A major fire broke out at the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in the Patenga area of Chattogram on Friday afternoon (July 11).

According to fire service sources, the blaze started around 2:55pm at the office of 'Arrow Favorite' within the EPZ and quickly spread to nearby buildings.

Eight units of the Fire Service and Civil Defense have been deployed to the scene and are working to bring the fire under control, said the Chattogram Fire Service Control Room.

No casualties have been reported so far. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
