Fire in control at Chawkbazar shoe factory

After 40 minutes of tireless efforts of the fire service’s nine units, the fire that erupted at a shoe factory in Kamalbag area at Chawk Bazar in the capital has been doused successfully.

Rafi Al Faruqe, on-duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said that the fire erupted at 1:00pm of noon and 5:00pm. At first five fire service units reached the spot at 1.08pm. Later, four more units joined them and successfully brought the fire under control.

The official, however, could not say anything about the losses and the reason behind the conflagration.
