The fire that broke out in the capital's Kalshi slum is spreading rapidly, and the Fire Service is facing difficulties due to a water shortage, hampering efforts to bring the blaze under control. Fire Service Headquarters Media Cell official Anwarul Islam Dolon confirmed the information. He also said the fire is spreading quickly through the slum. Thirteen units of the Fire Service were working to control the fire as of 8:00 pm, with additional units later joining the operation. The Fire Service had initially received information about the fire at 7:23 pm on Monday, May 25. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be known immediately. No casualties have been reported so far.

রাজধানীর মিরপুরের কালশী বস্তিতে লাগা আগুন দ্রুত আশপাশে ছড়িয়ে পড়ছে। পানি সংকটের কারণে সেই আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনতে হিমশিম খাচ্ছে ফায়ার সার্ভিস। ফায়ার সার্ভিস সদর দপ্তরের মিডিয়া সেলের কর্মকর্তা আনোয়ারুল ইসলাম দোলন এ বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করে জানান, বস্তিতে লাগা আগুন দ্রুতগতিতে ছড়িয়ে পড়ছে। সোমবার (২৫ মে) সন্ধ্যা ৭টা ২৩ মিনিটে আগুন লাগার খবর পায় ফায়ার সার্ভিস। রাত ৮টা পর্যন্ত ১৩টি ইউনিট আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ করছিল। পরবর্তীতে আরও অতিরিক্ত ইউনিট সেখানে গিয়ে যুক্ত হয়। তবে এখন পর্যন্ত কোনো হতাহতের খবর পাওয়া যায়নি। আগুনের উৎস এবং ক্ষয়ক্ষতির পরিমাণও তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে জানা সম্ভব হয়নি।
