Fire in parked bus in Gazipur

A parked bus was suddenly engulfed in flames in Kaliakair, Gazipur, on Friday, August 7. The incident occurred around 3pm at the bus stand area of the upazila.

Local residents and the Fire Service said that around 3pm, locals spotted a fire at the back of a parked Rajdhani Transport bus at the bus stand. Panic spread among the people instantly. When nearby residents failed to bring the fire under control, they informed the Fire Service. Later, firefighters arrived at the scene and brought the blaze under control after about half an hour of effort. However, by the time the Fire Service personnel arrived, most of the bus had already been burnt.

Kaliakair Fire Service Station Officer Ifthekhar Chowdhury Rayhan said the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be immediately ascertained. Upon receiving the news, they went to the spot and brought the fire under control.
