Firefighter Nurul Huda dies from injuries in Tongi blast

Firefighter Nurul Huda, who sustained critical burns in a chemical warehouse explosion in Tongi, Gazipur, has died while undergoing treatment. He was serving at Tongi Fire Station.

He passed away at 2:40pm Wednesday (September 24) at the ICU of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, confirmed Resident Surgeon Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman.

The fire broke out Monday afternoon at a semi-pucca tin-shed warehouse in Sahara Market. After three hours of effort, seven fire service units brought the blaze under control.

During the operation, an explosion injured five people, including four firefighters. Nurul Huda was among them.
