First committee of 'Nationalist ICT Forum' approved
The first committee of the 'Nationalist ICT Forum', formed on the initiative of entrepreneurs and professionals with nationalist leanings in the telecommunications and information and communication technology sector, has been approved. The committee was finalised based on the recommendations of a five-member committee formed following decisions from several recent meetings.
A press release issued on Sunday stated that the newly formed committee has been instructed to take necessary steps to transform the organisation into a permanent institutional setup by drafting a constitution within 90 days. Until the constitution is drafted and the final organisational structure is created, new members can be included in appropriate positions with the consent of the majority of committee members as per the organisation's needs.
A K M Wahiduzzaman has been made the Chief Adviser of the committee. Dr. Maruf Mallick, Professor Shah J Miah, Abbas Farooq, Faisal Alim, Professor A N K Zaman, Professor Kamruddin Nur, Dr Atiqur Rahman and Engineer Mizanur Rahman are serving as advisers.
Engineer Rafel Kabir has been made President, while Rupom Rakib, Md Samiul Islam and Imtiaz Mirza have been made Vice Presidents. Rowshan Kamal James has been made General Secretary. Mamun Or Rashid, Hasibur Rashid, Rokonuzzaman Rony and Sajib Barua have been appointed as Joint General Secretaries.
Additionally, Ferdous Alam Ipon has been made Organising Secretary, Mohiuddin Ahmed Saikat as Publicity and Publication Secretary, Engineer Md Jewel as Office Secretary, Nishat Anjum as Research Secretary and Nawid Hossain as Finance Secretary.
Other positions include: Saimum Reza Talukder (Law Affairs Secretary), Naziba Waziha Mahboob (Women Affairs Secretary), Shamim Azad (Cultural Secretary), Jubayer Real (International Affairs Secretary), Md Elias Mostafa (IT and Technology Secretary), Tapit Hasan Chowdhury (Training Affairs Secretary) and Md Al Mamun (Social Welfare Secretary).
Additionally, several members have been included in the committee at various levels. The press release sought cooperation from all concerned to strengthen the organisation's activities.
