First Eid congregation held at Baitul Mukarram

The first Eid-ul-Fitr congregation was held at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram in a befitting religious solemnity and festive atmosphere. The congregation was held at 7 am on Monday (March 31). Hafez Mufti Maulana Muhibullahil Baki was the presiding imam and Muazzin Hafez Md. Ataur Rahman was the muqabbir.

Before the prayer, Imam Hafez Mufti Maulana Muhibullahil Baki gave a sermon to the worshippers present. He said, Eid is a gift from Allah for the fasting people. It has brought a message of happiness for us. After a long month of fasting, we are offering Eid prayers with purity and piety.

He also said, Allah has given the month of Ramadan to forgive the sins of his servants. He has kept the doors of mercy open for us. We should live our lives throughout the year by utilizing the teachings of Ramadan.

Maulana Muhibbullahil Baki said that Eid-ul-Fitr is not only a day of joy, but it is also a day to strengthen the bond of brotherhood and solidarity between the rich and the poor. He also called on the worshippers present to realize the true beauty of Eid by extending a helping hand to the needy and poor in the society.

Four more Eid congregations are scheduled to be held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. After the first congregation at 7 am, three more congregations will be held one hour after each other and the fifth and last congregation will be held at 10:45 am.
