Five bodies recovered after fire at gaslighter factory in Kadamtali

Five bodies have been recovered following a devastating fire at a gaslighter factory in the capital's Kadamtali area, fire service officials said.

Fire Service Headquarters Media Cell officer Anwarul Islam Dolon confirmed the information on Saturday afternoon, April 4.

The identities of the deceased could not be immediately confirmed. Efforts are underway to gather further details.

One man was rescued with injuries and admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the fire service said.

The fire broke out at the factory around 1:13 pm. Upon receiving the information, fire service units rushed to the spot and began rescue and firefighting operations.

Seven units worked to bring the blaze under control. After more than an hour of effort, the fire was brought under control.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be known immediately. Authorities said the matter is being investigated.
