Five die of dengue in 24hrs
In the past 24 hours, five people have died of dengue in the country, bringing this year’s death toll to 110. During the same period, 311 new patients have been admitted to the hospital.
The Directorate General of Health Services reported this information on Thursday (August 21) in its regular dengue update.
According to the report, three people died of dengue in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area in the past 24 hours, while two deaths occurred in the Rajshahi Division. Meanwhile, the Barishal Division recorded the highest number of hospital admissions during the same period, with 82 dengue patients admitted.
Additionally, in the past 24 hours, 61 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka South City Corporation, 51 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 42 in the Dhaka Division, 37 in the Chattogram Division, 21 in the Rajshahi Division, 15 in the Khulna Division, and 2 in the Mymensingh Division.
