Five injured in gunfight between two BNP factions in Raozan

At least five people were shot in a clash between two factions of the BNP in Raozan upazila of Chattogram.

The incident took place at Chowdhury Para in Ward No. 4 of Bagowan Union on Wednesday night (November 5).

The injured—Sohel, Rubel, Khorshed, Ismail, and Sumon—are all BNP and affiliated organisations activists. They were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

According to local sources, the clash erupted around 10pm. when one group was returning from a BNP meeting and came under attack by rivals. Police later reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

A CMCH police official said five bullet-injured persons were brought to the hospital around 12:30am and are receiving treatment in different wards.

An on-duty officer at Raozan Police Station said the officer-in-charge visited the scene, the situation is now under control, and a probe is underway to determine the cause of the incident.
