Five killed in Cox's Bazar road crash
Five people died in a head-on collision between a dump truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Cox's Bazar's Pekua, leaving two others injured.
The accident occurred at 7:00 am on Thursday (December 19) in the Dhoniakata area of the Pekua ABC regional highway.
The deceased have been identified as auto-rickshaw driver Monirul Mannan, son of Syed Alam from Dhoniakata, along with Firoz, his wife Sharmin, and their child from Hathazari, Chattogram. The identity of the fifth victim is still unknown.
Md Jasim Uddin Chowdhury, additional superintendent of Cox's Bazar district police, confirmed the matter. He said, "A dump truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on at the Pekua ABC area at 7:00 am. Five people died at the scene, and two others were injured. The vehicles involved in the accident have been seized."
