Five more children die with measles symptoms, 1,032 infected
The Directorate General of Health Services has reported that five more children have died with measles symptoms in the country in the last 24 hours. In the same period 1,032 children have been infected with measles and measles symptoms.
This information was given in the measles-related updated report of the Directorate General of Health Services on Thursday.
The Directorate General of Health Services said although five children died with measles symptoms in the last 24 hours, no child died after being confirmed as infected with measles.
With this, 856 children have died with measles symptoms across the country from March 15 till now. Another 99 children have died after being confirmed as infected with measles. Altogether the death toll from measles and measles symptoms during this period has stood at 956.
In the last 24 hours 75 children have newly been infected with measles. Besides, 956 children have been infected with measles symptoms. During this period 864 children have been admitted to hospital and 724 children have been discharged after treatment.
According to information of the Directorate General of Health Services, the number of suspected measles patients in the country from March 15 till now is 1,53,692. Measles has been confirmed in 18,726 people. During this period a total of 1,34,437 patients have been admitted to hospital. Of them 1,29,489 have returned home after treatment.
