Five more children die with measles symptoms, over a thousand infected

Five more children have died with measles symptoms in the country over the past 24 hours. During the same period, over a thousand children were infected with measles or its symptoms. The Directorate General of Health Services published the updated report on Wednesday (July 15).

According to the report, among the five children who died between Tuesday 8am and Wednesday 8am, four were from Dhaka and one from Mymensingh.

During this period, 1,092 children were infected with measles or its symptoms across the country. Of them, 172 tested positive for measles.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 676 children have died with measles symptoms since March 15 this year. Additionally, 95 more children died after being diagnosed with measles. In total, 771 children have died so far.

Since March 15, 114,164 children have shown measles symptoms across the country. Of them, 13,907 have tested positive for measles. So far, 96,878 children have been hospitalised with measles or its symptoms. Of them, 93,260 have recovered and returned home. In the last 24 hours, 851 new children were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 877 children were discharged after completing treatment.
