Five more die of dengue, 490 hospitalised
Five more people have died of dengue in the past 24 hours. During the same period, 490 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.
The information was given in a dengue-related press release issued on Wednesday, December 3, by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.
According to the release, among those admitted in the past 24 hours, 58 were in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 88 in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation), 74 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporation), 106 under Dhaka North City Corporation, 77 under Dhaka South City Corporation, 28 in Khulna division (outside the city corporation), 33 in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation), 18 in Rajshahi division (outside the city corporation), five in Rangpur division (outside the city corporation) and three in Sylhet division (outside the city corporation).
A total of 640 dengue patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours. So far this year, 93,836 patients have recovered after hospital treatment.
As of December 3 this year, 96,067 people have been infected with dengue. Among them, 62.4 per cent are male and 37.6 per cent are female.
With five new deaths reported in the past 24 hours, the total dengue death toll this year has risen to 391.
