Five more die with measles symptoms, 1,180 infected
Five more people have died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours. Of them, three were from Sylhet division. During the same period, measles symptoms appeared in 1,110 new patients, while another 70 people were confirmed to have measles.
The information was provided in the regular measles situation report of the Directorate General of Health Services on Friday, August 28.
According to the report, a total of 861 children have died with measles symptoms since March 15. During the same period, 99 children have died from confirmed measles. Combined, the death toll from measles symptoms and confirmed measles has reached 960.
With 70 confirmed measles cases in the last 24 hours, a total of 18,796 people have been diagnosed with measles across the country since March 15.
Additionally, measles symptoms appeared in 1,110 people in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of patients with measles-like symptoms to 154,792 since March 15.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, a total of 135,473 patients have been hospitalised with measles symptoms during this period. Of them, 130,457 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
