Five platoons of BGB deployed in Gopalganj ahead of August 15

The administration has taken extensive security measures in Gopalganj to avoid any untoward incidents and maintain overall law and order in the district ahead of August 15. In addition to district police, five platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), RAB, APBn and other law enforcement agencies have been deployed.

Additional police have been deployed on important roads, intersections, government installations and public gathering places in the district. Intelligence surveillance has been increased and round-the-clock patrols are being conducted. Law enforcement agencies are ready to tackle any situation.

Meanwhile, a large number of police, APBn and plainclothes law enforcement personnel have been deployed at the three gates of the Sheikh Mujibur Rahman mausoleum complex in Tungipara and surrounding areas. Security has also been tightened in various areas of Tungipara.

A joint patrol led by Deputy Commissioner Md Arif-Uz-Zaman and Superintendent of Police Md Habibullah was conducted on Friday afternoon, starting from the DC office premises. Members of police, RAB, BGB and APBn took part. The patrol toured various important areas of the district town before heading to the Sheikh Mujibur Rahman mausoleum in Tungipara, later returning to the district town.

Superintendent of Police Md Habibullah said members of BGB and other law enforcement agencies would remain on alert to prevent any deterioration in law and order in the district on August 15.

Deputy Commissioner Md Arif-Uz-Zaman said five platoons of BGB have been deployed to keep the district's law and order normal and under control. BGB members will perform duties alongside police.
