Five platoons of BGB deployed in Gopalganj
The district administration has adopted extensive security measures in Gopalganj to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain overall law and order.
A total of five platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across the district in support of the police.
Since Tuesday (August 4), additional police personnel have been stationed at key roads, major intersections, government installations, and other public gathering points throughout the district town. Intelligence surveillance by law enforcement agencies has also been intensified, while round-the-clock patrols continue.
Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Md. Arif-Uz-Zaman said, "Various programs will be observed in the district on August 5 to mark the 'July Mass Uprising Day.' To ensure that these events are held peacefully and without disruption, members of the BGB, along with other law enforcement agencies, have been deployed."
According to district administration and law enforcement sources, the deployment of BGB personnel and the enhanced security measures will remain in effect until August 15.
