Five students injured in explosion at Dhaka madrasa
Five child students were injured, one critically, in an explosion caused by a short circuit at a building of the Darunnajat Siddikia Kamil Madrasa in Demra's East Boksanagar area on Monday afternoon, July 13.
The incident occurred on the sixth floor of the eight-storey building around 3:00 pm. An explosion in an electrical board caused part of the wall to collapse and a fire to break out, injuring several students who were sleeping in the room at the time.
The injured students are Redowan, Modabbir, Safi, Md Uzayfa and Roman, aged between 12 and 15. They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where Redowan is in critical condition.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost inspector Md Faruk confirmed that they received primary treatment at the emergency department.
