Five-tier security for Eid congregations in Dhaka: DMP chief

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat ​​Ali said that there is no specific security threat during this Eid. However, security arrangements have been taken keeping in mind all kinds of challenges. Five-tier security arrangements have been taken around the Eid congregations in the capital, including the National Eidgah Maidan.

The Dhaka Police Chief said this after coming to observe the security arrangements at the National Eidgah Maidan this Sunday morning.

He said that not only the Awami League; the DMP is ready to prevent the mischief of any banned party.

The DMP Commissioner said that like the rest of the country, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated with due religious solemnity and enthusiasm in Dhaka Metropolitan City. The main Eid congregation will be held at the National Eidgah Maidan. The President, cabinet members and dignitaries will offer prayers at this Eidgah. This time, 15,000 police personnel, as well as members of CTTC, ATU, plainclothes detective police, and various law enforcement agencies including the army, will be deployed for security. There will also be surveillance by more than a hundred CCTV cameras.
