Flash march by banned Chhatra League in Feni
A flash march was held in Feni under the banner of the banned Chhatra League. The march was brought out on Friday morning around 7:30 am in the Lalpool area of Feni Sadar on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway, under the banner of the Feni Government College unit Chhatra League. Police have said legal action will be taken against those involved.
According to eyewitnesses, 50 to 60 leaders and activists suddenly took out the march on the highway. The march, which lasted about 15 to 20 minutes, ended near the Latu Mia Brickfield. The participants then quickly left the scene.
Locals claimed that Noman Habib, president of the Feni Government College unit Chhatra League, was seen leading the march.
Feni Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Sajal Kanti Das said there is no scope for a banned organisation to hold a public procession. The matter is being taken seriously and legal action will be taken against those involved.
He further said that cases have been filed and several people arrested over similar flash marches in the past.
It may be noted that over the past month, three such flash marches of the banned Chhatra League and Awami League have taken place in Feni.
