Leaders and activists of the banned Chhatra League held a flash rally in the Annanya Residential Area of Chattogram city on Friday morning, August 28. A group of 15 to 20 people marched for a few minutes around 7am. However, Bayezid Bostami Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Abdul Karim said he was unaware of the rally.

Photos and videos of the rally have already spread on social media. They show a group marching from the Annanya Residential Area towards the Kuwaish Road, chanting slogans including "Sheikh Hasina will come, Bangladesh will smile" and "Joy Bangla."

Eyewitnesses said the rally was brought out from the Annanya Residential Area in the morning when the roads were relatively empty. After marching for a few minutes, the participants quickly dispersed.

It was learned that the rally was led by Asif Tushar, known as an organiser of Rouzan upazila Chhatra League. A banner featuring a picture of former Member of Parliament Fazle Karim Chowdhury, currently imprisoned in multiple murder cases related to the July uprising, was also seen during the rally.

Following the circulation of photos and videos on social media, the matter has sparked discussion.

When contacted, Bayezid Bostami Police Station OC Md Abdul Karim said, "I do not know anything about the rally."
