Flash rally by banned Chhatra League in Kaliganj

Leaders and activists of the banned organisation Chhatra League held a flash rally in Kaliganj, Jhenaidah, early on Friday (August 28). The rally took place around 5:30am in the area adjacent to the Kaliganj main bus stand.

According to eyewitnesses and local sources, 15 to 20 leaders and activists from the district and Kaliganj upazila Chhatra League participated in the rally. After the rally, which lasted about one minute and 20 seconds, the participants quickly left the scene .

Those present at the rally included Jhenaidah district Chhatra League Office Secretary Sheikh Sadi, Vice President Shahriar Simanto, and Joint Secretary Mohammad Tawfiq Omar Sabbir, along with other leaders and activists.

During the rally, the protesters were heard chanting various slogans. They shouted slogans including "Sheikh Hasina, no fear, we have not abandoned the streets", "Destroy the den of militancy, burn it down", and "She is coming, she is coming, Sheikh Hasina is coming". They also demanded the lifting of the ban on Awami League activities.

When asked about the matter, Kaliganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kabir Hossain said, "I was not aware of the banned Chhatra League rally. I am learning about it from you. I am looking into the matter."
