An Emirates flight carrying the remains of Bangladeshi PhD student Nahida Sultana Bristy departed from Florida for Dhaka today (May 8).

The flight is scheduled to reach Dhaka at 8:40am tomorrow (May 9), Golam Mortoza, press minister at the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, shared the information in a Facebook post.

Flight EK 0220 took off from Orlando International Airport at 8:50pm (local time), before transiting through Dubai, where the body will be transferred to connecting flight EK 0582 bound for Dhaka.

Bristy and fellow Bangladeshi student Zamil Ahmed Limon, both 27 and PhD students at the University of South Florida, went missing on April 16.

Limon’s body was recovered on April 24, showing multiple stab wounds, while Bristy’s body was later found in a nearby waterway on April 26, according to investigators.

Authorities said the suspect, identified as Hisham Abugharbieh, was arrested by a SWAT team at his residence and now faces multiple first-degree murder charges involving both victims.

Limon’s body was repatriated earlier and buried in Bangladesh on May 4.
