Foodpanda MD among 6 others sued for fraud, forgery

Four separate cases have been filed against Syeda Ambareen Reza, managing director of Foodpanda Bangladesh Limited, and six other officials on charges of fraud, forgery, and intimidation.

The cases were lodged by Shihab Mahmud, proprietor of First Tele Sales Company, in the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanaullah in Dhaka on Thursday (July 3).

The other accused include Foodpanda co-founder and director Zubair Siddiqui, Delivery Hero Store director (Indian national) Md Tabarez Khan, Head of Category Dilara Faruk, Senior Manager Mohammad Sajedul Haque, and Category Management Executive Mohammad Toufiq.

Plaintiff's lawyer Kazi Mofizul Islam informed the media that the court has recorded his client's statement. The magistrate will issue an order after reviewing the submitted documents.

According to the plaintiff, his company was operating under a separate agreement with Panda Mart, a subsidiary of Foodpanda. He alleges that the accused violated the terms of the agreement and committed various fraudulent acts, causing financial losses amounting to approximately Tk 5.6 crore.
