Foreign Minister to leave Dhaka for Brussels

Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud is scheduled to attend the EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum in Brussels. He will leave for Brussels, the capital of Belgium, on Wednesday (January 31) night.

It will be Hasan Mahmud's first tour to Europe after the parliamentary elections. The minister will attend the opening session to be held on February 2, three round table meetings, and the closing session.

According to the officials of the Foreign Ministry, this is Hasan Mahmud's second foreign visit and his first trip to Europe after taking charge as the foreign minister in the new cabinet. Hasan Mahmud will discuss economic tolerance in the EU ministerial level meeting during this visit.

Apart from this, Hasan Mahmud will discuss with the foreign ministers of several countries including Belgium, Sweden, and the Netherlands while participating in the meeting. He will especially emphasize on increasing Bangladesh's cooperation with European countries in the new term of the Awami League government.

The appointment of several bilateral meetings of the minister has already been finalised. The rest of the appointments in the pipeline before and after arriving in Brussels on February 1 will also be fixed.
