Foreign woman beaten to death in Gulshan

A foreign woman has been allegedly beaten to death in the capital's Gulshan. She was taken dead to a private hospital in the capital on Tuesday morning (April 28).

The deceased woman has been identified as Shamim Salim Kasim, 67. She reportedly lived in a house on Park Road in Baridhara, Gulshan-2 area.

Hospital sources said that when she was taken to Continental Hospital in the morning, doctors declared her dead. The matter was then reported to the police.

Gulshan Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Mokhlesur Rahman said that they went to the spot after receiving a call from the hospital. Initially, it is believed that the woman was beaten to death. However, the details of the incident have not been confirmed yet.

He added that the identity and citizenship of the deceased woman are being verified and the entire incident is being investigated.

Police say that work is underway to uncover how the incident happened and who is behind it.
