Former MP Dr Kamaruzzaman passes away
Former Member of Parliament Professor Dr A.K.M. Kamaruzzaman passed away on Friday, September 19, at around 12:15pm.
According to Shamsuddin Didar, an official from the BNP Chairperson’s Media Wing, Dr Kamaruzzaman had been battling multiple health complications for an extended period. On Friday morning, he suddenly fell ill at his Banani residence and was rushed to United Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. He was 85 years old at the time of his passing.
Dr Kamaruzzaman is survived by his wife, children, numerous well-wishers, relatives, and admirers.
He was elected as a Member of Parliament in the 1991 Fifth National Parliamentary Elections from the Cumilla-10 constituency (formerly Cumilla-11, Nangalkot).
The first funeral prayer (Janaza) will be held on Friday after Maghrib at the Banani Chairman Bari Mosque, Road No. 3, in Dhaka.
