Four Bangladeshis of same family injured in Israeli drone strike in Lebanon

Four Bangladeshi nationals from the same family were seriously injured in an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon, triggering concern among the expatriate Bangladeshi community in the region.

The attack took place on Thursday (May 28) when an Israeli drone struck a residential building in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon, according to officials.

The incident was confirmed by Embassy of Bangladesh in Beirut Labour Counsellor Anwar Hossain.

Embassy sources said the injured include one man, one woman and two children. Among them, Mohammad Momin Mia from Brahmanbaria and Joyena Akter from Narsingdi have been identified.

Officials said Joyena Akter suffered severe injuries and lost one of her legs in the strike.

According to local sources, the family was staying in an area of southern Lebanon when the drone attack occurred. The injured were rescued and rushed to Ragheb Harb Hospital in Nabatieh for treatment.

The Bangladesh embassy said efforts are underway to gather further details about the victims and monitor their medical condition.
