Four burnt in Dhaka hotel fire during AC servicing

Four workers were injured in a fire caused by a short circuit during air conditioning (AC) servicing at a residential hotel in the capital's Khilkhet on Friday morning (March 13).

The victims were identified as Monsur Ali, 32, Abdul Matin, 67, Mohammad Mahi, 17, and Abdul Jalil, 67.  All are the staff of the hotel.

According to hotel employee Mohammad Imran, the fire broke out on the ground floor due to a short circuit while the AC was being serviced.

The injured were taken to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute for treatment.

Doctors reported that Monsur sustained burns on 21% of his body, Matin and Mahi on 5% each, and Jalil on 7%. Monsur is in critical condition, while the other three remain under observation.
