Four people were killed and another was injured after a sand-laden truck lost control and overturned in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi. The accident took place around 7:50am in the Jalmolia Bazar area on Thursday (January 1), according to the Fire Service. The injured person has been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fire Service officials said the truck overturned suddenly after entering the market area. Firefighters reached the scene within five minutes of being informed and began rescue operations immediately. Two units from the Puthia and Natore fire stations are jointly conducting the rescue operation.

রাজশাহীর পুঠিয়ায় একটি বালুবাহী ট্রাক নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে উল্টে যাওয়ার ঘটনায় চারজন নিহত হয়েছেন। এ দুর্ঘটনায় আরও একজন আহত হয়েছেন। বৃহস্পতিবার (১ জানুয়ারি) সকাল ৭টা ৫০ মিনিটের দিকে পুঠিয়ার জল মলিয়া বাজার এলাকায় এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে বলে জানিয়েছে ফায়ার সার্ভিস। ফায়ার সার্ভিসের বার্তায় বলা হয়, বাজারের ভেতরে প্রবেশের পর ট্রাকটি হঠাৎ নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে উল্টে যায়। খবর পাওয়ার পাঁচ মিনিটের মধ্যেই ফায়ার সার্ভিসের সদস্যরা ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছান। বর্তমানে পুঠিয়া ও নাটোর ফায়ার স্টেশনের দুটি ইউনিট যৌথভাবে উদ্ধার কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করছে।
