Four killed in bus–easy bike collision in Gopalganj

Four people were killed after a bus collided with an easy-bike in Kashiani, Gopalganj. Three others, including a child, were injured in the incident.

The accident occurred around 12pm on Saturday, September 27, on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in the Majhigati bus stand area of Kashiani upazila.

The deceased include two women and two men. However, the identities of none of the victims are known yet.

Police and local sources said that when a Dhaka-bound bus of Imad Paribahan, coming from Khulna, reached the Majhigati area, it collided with an easy-bike coming from the opposite direction. Two people were killed on the spot, and five others, including women and a child, were seriously injured.

Later, the fire service and locals rescued the victims and took them to Kashiani upazila Health Complex. The duty doctor then sent the injured to the 250-bed Gopalganj General Hospital for better treatment, where doctors declared two more people dead.

Vanga highway police sergeant Md. Russel said, "We have so far received news of four deaths. Efforts are underway to identify them. Details will be announced later."
