Four killed in bus-pickup collision in Habiganj

Four people, including a woman, were killed in a collision between a bus and a pickup van in Madhabpur upazila, Habiganj. The accident occurred on Saturday night, March 21, in the Andiura area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway, adjacent to Andiura Ummetunnesa High School.

The identities of the deceased could not be immediately confirmed. Among the dead were three men and one woman.

Sub-Inspector Yusuf of Madhabpur Police Station, who was at the scene, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post around 11:15 am on Sunday, March 22.

He said the pickup van fell into a nearby pond after the collision. It was carrying household goods. The bodies of four people have been recovered. The deceased were the driver and passengers of the pickup van. The bodies have been sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital. It is unclear whether they were heading towards Sylhet or returning from Sylhet.
