Four people, including three members of the same family, were killed when a truck crushed them in front of the Boragari Bridge in Domar upazila, Nilphamari, on Sunday afternoon, July 12. The accident occurred in the Motakpur Nadirpar area of the upazila. The deceased were travelling in a Mithila van when a speeding truck hit them, killing four on the spot, including the van driver. The victims could not be immediately identified. Police and rescue workers arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies. Domar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Habibullah confirmed the incident and said legal action would be taken following an investigation.

নীলফামারীর ডোমার উপজেলায় ট্রাকের ধাক্কায় একটি মিথিলা ভ্যান দুমড়ে-মুচড়ে গেলে একই পরিবারের তিন সদস্যসহ চারজন নিহত হয়েছেন। রোববার (১২ জুলাই) বিকেলে উপজেলার মোটাকপুর নদীপাড় এলাকায় বড়গাড়ি সেতুর সামনে এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। পুলিশ জানায়, নিহতরা একটি মিথিলা ভ্যানে করে যাচ্ছিলেন। এ সময় দ্রুতগতির একটি ট্রাক ভ্যানটিকে চাপা দিলে ঘটনাস্থলেই ভ্যানচালকসহ চারজনের মৃত্যু হয়। নিহতদের মধ্যে একই পরিবারের তিন সদস্য রয়েছেন। তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে নিহতদের পরিচয় জানা যায়নি। খবর পেয়ে পুলিশ ও উদ্ধারকর্মীরা ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে মরদেহ উদ্ধার করে। ডোমার থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) হাবিবুল্লাহ ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করে জানান, দুর্ঘটনার কারণ তদন্ত করে প্রয়োজনীয় আইনগত ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।
