Four killed in two separate road accidents in Bogura

Four people have died in two separate road accidents in Bogura on the same day. A mother and daughter were killed in Kahalu upazila, while a father and his four-year-old daughter were killed in Shahjahanpur upazila.

In Kahalu upazila, a mother and daughter died on Monday afternoon, May 25, when a bus hit a van on the Naogaon-Bogura regional highway in the Kazipara area. The deceased have been identified as Jenny Khatun, 38, and her daughter Tonvi, 20, residents of the Kazipara area.

Kahalu Police Station Sub-Inspector Mohammad Ali said a bus named 'Evergreen' was heading from Dhaka to Naogaon. The bus lost control in the Kazipara area and hit a van ahead of it, then fell into a ditch. The mother and daughter died on the spot.

Earlier on the same day, in Shahjahanpur upazila, motorcyclist Anisur Rahman, 35, and his four-year-old daughter Ayesha were killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in the Banani area. Anisur's wife, Pushpa, 25, was seriously injured.

Highway police said an unidentified vehicle hit the motorcycle at a place called Banani opposite the Tourist Motel on the Bogura-Dhaka lane. Anisur and his daughter died on the spot. Injured Pushpa was taken to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
