Four Middle East routes resume flight operations
Flights have resumed on four more Middle Eastern routes, including Jeddah, Madinah and Muscat, which had remained suspended due to the ongoing war, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Rashiduzzaman Millat has said. Meanwhile, Religious Affairs Minister Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad has informed that the government will monitor whether zakat is being properly collected and utilised.
Religious Affairs Minister Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad, Religious Affairs Secretary Munsi Alauddin Al Azad and As-Sunnah Foundation Chairman Shaykh Ahmadullah met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Cabinet Division in the Secretariat to discuss zakat management. After the meeting, the As-Sunnah Foundation chairman said they presented their experience on how zakat funds can be utilised to develop skilled manpower. He also informed that a proposal has been made to form a committee on zakat matters.
Religious Affairs Minister Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad said the prime minister has instructed them to work on improving zakat management.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman also held a meeting with Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanom Rita, State Minister Rashiduzzaman Millat and other ministry officials. After the meeting, the state minister said the prime minister has instructed them to make Biman passenger-friendly and modern. He has also ordered the installation of another scanner at the airport to reduce passenger harassment.
International photographer Shahidul Alam met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. Later, speaking to journalists, he said he is joining the flotilla again to break the siege of Gaza. A Bangladeshi-flagged vessel will be part of the flotilla. The prime minister is very enthusiastic about this matter.
