Four of same family burned in Cumilla cylinder blast

Four members of the same family, including a woman and a child, suffered burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion caused by leakage in Daudkandi of Cumilla.

The injured are Monowara, 60, Zill Haque, 37, Umme Humayra, 30, and Hurram, 2.

They were rescued in a burned condition and taken to the emergency department of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery at around 6 am on Tuesday, February 24.

Resident surgeon Dr Shaon Bin Rahman confirmed the matter.

He said the four victims from the same family were brought to the emergency department from Daudkandi area of Cumilla early in the morning.

According to him, Monowara Begum sustained 2 percent burns, Zill Haque 54 percent, Umme Humayra 65 percent and child Hurram 6 percent burns.

Among them, the condition of two victims is extremely critical.
