France opens modern visa application centre in Dhaka

France has opened a new state-of-the-art visa application centre in Dhaka to improve services for Bangladeshi travellers.

The facility, located at Rangs Z Square on Gulshan Avenue, was inaugurated on Tuesday (September 16) by French Ambassador to Bangladesh Marie Masdupuy. From Wednesday, applicants can submit their visa applications at the new centre by booking appointments online through the VFS Global website.

Ambassador Masdupuy said the new centre will make the visa process more efficient by expanding application capacity, reducing waiting times and modernising the payment system.

She added that while VFS Global will manage administrative tasks such as document collection and biometric enrolment, the processing and final decision on visas will remain with the French Embassy.

The centre, staffed by trained customer service representatives, will also offer premium options including courier services and form-filling assistance.

VFS Global has partnered with the French government in visa processing since 2004 and currently operates 70 French visa centres across 29 countries.

The Dhaka centre will remain open Sunday to Thursday, from 8:30am to 4:00pm. Appointments can be booked online at https://visa.vfsglobal.com/bgd/en/fra
