Serious allegations have been made about mob, encroachment and administrative control surrounding the non-profit and public health service-based organization Gonoshasthaya Kendra. One of the founding trustees and freedom fighter of the organization, Dr. Nazimuddin Ahmed, has alleged that he could not escape the mob situation even with folded hands and requests. He was systematically insulted and removed from his duties.

This information was revealed from a national media report. A video footage of the mob has also been released.

According to Dr. Nazimuddin Ahmed, after the death of Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury on April 11, 2023, internal conflict began over the control of Gonoshasthaya Kendra. After that, attempts were gradually made to establish control at various levels of the organization. In continuation of this process, a mob situation was created with more than fifty people at the main office in Savar on August 24, 2024.

Describing the incident that day, he said, "A group of people suddenly entered the institution around noon and pressured me and Director Dr. Mahbub Zubair to resign. When the situation quickly heated up, I tried to calm the situation by joining hands. However, the situation could not be brought under control.

He claimed that he was surrounded for about four hours and created mental pressure. Finally, he was forced to sign a written resignation letter.

Dr. Nazimuddin alleged that although the administration was present during the incident, they did not take any effective role. He said that the administration officials did not intervene to control the situation, saying that they had 'higher orders'. He advised the mobsters to accept their decision.

Dr. Nazimuddin further claimed that there was a well-planned initiative behind his removal from the institution. Some people had been trying to take control of the Gonoshasthaya Kendra for a long time. Some people, including Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Shirin Haque, were involved in this process. He also said that instructions to arrest or expel him were heard over the phone during the mob.

During the incident, he was made to sign a written resignation letter, which stated that he was voluntarily resigning from his duties. He would not participate in any activities of the organization in the future. However, Dr. Nazimuddin claimed that it was not a voluntary resignation. He said that it was a decision taken under complete pressure.

The video footage of the incident shows that from noon to afternoon that day, a group of people surrounded him and repeatedly pressured him to resign. He was in a helpless situation the entire time.

It is alleged that documents were destroyed, cupboards were vandalized and some items were lost.

Dr. Nazimuddin alleged that since the death of Zafrullah Chowdhury, attempts to take over the organization gradually began and later that plan was implemented.

Currently, Dr. Nazimuddin Ahmed is demanding a proper investigation into the incident, action against those responsible, and restoration of the organization's real structure.
