Fresh US visa advisory for Bangladeshi nationals
The US embassy in Dhaka has issued new guidelines regarding American visas. An advisory has been issued for Bangladeshi citizens travelling to the United States on B-1/B-2 visitor visas.
The embassy announced via a Facebook post on Wednesday, March 18, that this visa cannot be used to give birth to a child in the United States. Many individuals attempt to travel to the country on visas to give birth, taking advantage of 'birth tourism'.
Additionally, B-1/B-2 visa holders cannot work for any employer or business establishment in the United States in exchange for remuneration. Similarly, studying for a degree or institutional credit using this visa is also not permitted.
The primary purpose of the US embassy's advisory is to ensure proper adherence to the terms and conditions of visitor visas and to prevent visa misuse.
