The government has announced that fuel prices will remain unchanged throughout July. Consumers will continue to pay the current rates for diesel, kerosene, petrol, and octane, according to a directive issued Sunday by the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Earlier this month, the government adjusted prices for June: kerosene increased by Tk 10 per liter to Tk 114, diesel decreased by Tk 2 to Tk 102, and both petrol and octane were reduced by Tk 3 to Tk 118 and Tk 122 respectively.

Since March last year, the government has followed an automated fuel pricing mechanism, aligning domestic prices with global market trends. Prices are reviewed and set monthly.

Under the interim government, fuel prices have seen occasional reductions, periods of stability, and slight increases. In February, diesel and kerosene prices were raised to Tk 105 per liter. Octane and petrol went up to Tk 126 and Tk 122 respectively. Prices remained unchanged in March and April, while in May, all fuel types saw a Tk 1 per liter cut.
