BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has stated that gaining paradise is possible not by speaking ill of mothers and sisters but by respecting them. He said a child's paradise lies beneath their mother's feet.

He made these remarks at an election roadshow held at the Kismat Daulatpur Madrasa and Eidgah ground in Nargun union of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila on Wednesday afternoon. Referring to a recent statement, he mentioned that according to newspaper reports, a party chief had made indecent remarks about mothers and sisters, which was undesirable.

Speaking as the BNP's candidate for Thakurgaon-1 constituency, Mirza Fakhrul said the BNP always believes in work and action, not in criticism. He alleged that a new party has come to participate in the election, which was previously with them. He called on those who want to do politics to refrain from lying, backbiting, and unnecessary personal criticism.

Mirza Fakhrul said, "I have nothing to say about Jamaat-e-Islami's candidate, but I have something to say about the party. Please stop the false propaganda."

Cautioning voters, Mirza Fakhrul said, "This party is coming to you for votes, they can come. But you should be wary of their propaganda. They say that voting for Jamaat-e-Islami will get you paradise."

The BNP Secretary General said, "You know about the false cases in the names of 60 lakh people. Twenty thousand leaders and activists have been killed, 1700 have been disappeared. By Allah's grace, there has been a movement. At the final moment of the movement, on August 5, Awami League's Sheikh Hasina fled to India. Now, it's been almost a year and a half since this government came. They will hand over power to an elected government after a fair election. That election is on the 12th, exactly seven days from now. You will be able to cast a proper vote after many days, you can vote for whoever you like. That is what a vote is. For the last 15 years, people could not vote. They even cast our votes. This time, by the grace of Allah, it will be a good election. We hope we will get the opportunity to hold an election in a fair and neutral environment this time."

At the roadshow, Mirza Fakhrul urged voters to vote for the Sheaf of Paddy symbol. Later, a voter presented him with a clay bank. Thakurgaon District BNP General Secretary Paygam Ali, along with local leaders and activists, were present at the time.
