Garment worker killed after being hit by auto-rickshaw in Shyampur

A garment worker was killed after being hit by an auto-rickshaw at Shyampur in Dhaka.

The accident took place around 12:40am on the Dhaka Highway road under Shyampur police station early Sunday (August 30), according to a pedestrian, Shahidul Islam.

The deceased was identified as Dina Begum, 34, a resident of Police Line Tagarpara area in Fatullah of Narayanganj. She was the daughter of late Abdul Kader.

Dina sustained critical injuries and was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, said the body had been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy. Police of the concerned station have been informed of the incident.
