Four people have suffered burn injuries after a leak from a gas cylinder led to an explosion in the Bagbari area of Gazipur’s Kashimpur. The victims were rushed to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka for treatment. Resident Doctor Shaon Bin Rahman of the Emergency Department said that the incident occurred around 5:15am on Sunday and the victims arrived at the hospital around 8:30am. Among the victims, Md Tanzil suffered burns on 20 percent of his body, Rabbi on 23 percent, Shamsul on 5 percent, and Razia Ahmed 4 percent. “Tanzil and Rabbi had burns on more of their bodies,” Shaon said. “They have been admitted to the HDU as they are in danger. The other two victims have been released after they were administered first aid.”

গাজীপুরের কাশিমপুর এলাকায় গ্যাস সিলিন্ডার বিস্ফোরণে চারজন দগ্ধ হয়েছেন। দগ্ধরা হলেন- মো. তানজিল (২২), রাব্বি (২০), শামসুল (৬৫) ও রোজিনা হক (৪৯)। গাজীপুর মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের কাশিমপুর থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) সাইফুল ইসলাম জানান, শনিবার (১৬ নভেম্বর) রাতে কাশিমপুরের বাগবাড়ি এলাকার একটি বাসায় গ্যাস সিলিন্ডার বিস্ফোরণ হয়। রান্নার গ্যাস সিলিন্ডারের লিকেজ থেকে বিস্ফোরণ হলে তারা দগ্ধ হন। তাদের স্থানীয় একটি ক্লিনিকে প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসা দিয়ে দ্রুত ঢাকার হাসপাতালে পাঠানো হয়। ন্যাশনাল ইনস্টিটিউট অব বার্ন অ্যান্ড প্লাস্টিক সার্জারির আবাসিক চিকিৎসক ডা. শাওন বিন রহমান গণমাধ্যমকে জানান, দগ্ধ হওয়া ওই চারজনকে গুরুতর অবস্থায় শনিবার রাতে হাসপাতালের জরুরি বিভাগে আনা হয়। তাদের মধ্যে তানজিল ৩০ শতাংশ, রাব্বি ২৩ , শামসুল ৫ ও রোজিনা ৩ শতাংশ দগ্ধ হয়েছেন। তিনি আরও জানান, তাদের মধ্যে দুজনের দগ্ধের পরিমাণ বেশি হওয়ায়, তাদের জরুরি বিভাগের অবজারভেশন শেষে নিবিড় পরিচর্যাকেন্দ্রে নেয়া হয়েছে।
