Gas leak fire in Narayanganj leaves 3 of same family burnt

Three members of the same family, including a woman and a child, were severely burnt in a fire caused by a gas leak in Narayanganj.

The incident occurred on Friday morning, August 7. They were rescued in burnt condition and taken to the emergency department of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

The injured are: Maidul, 24, his wife Beauty, 24, and their son Maruf, 8. They are all residents of the Narayanganj Sadar area.

Resident Surgeon of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, confirmed the matter. He said the burnt victims were brought to the Burn Institute in critical condition on Friday morning. The condition of all three is critical. Maidul sustained 85 percent burns, Beauty 80 percent and Maruf 90 percent. They are currently undergoing treatment under intensive observation.
