Gas pressure to dip in Dhaka for 10 hours today
Gas supply pressure will remain low for 10 hours across several areas of Dhaka on Friday (January 2), following emergency repair work on a damaged pipeline, the Titas Gas Authority said.
A 580-foot section of the pipeline from Demra CGS to Tejgaon TBS in Manikdia has been exposed, prompting urgent restoration work. As a result, gas pressure will be reduced from 10:00am to 8:00pm.
Affected areas include Dhaka Cantonment, Gulshan, Banani, Tejgaon, Nandipara, Bashabo, Khilgaon, Banasree, the stretch from Rampura Bridge to Malibagh Chowdhuripara, Mugda, Manda, Maniknagar (Dholpur), Shahjahanpur, and Gopibagh.
Customers in these areas may experience disruptions in gas supply for all categories of use.
The Titas Gas Authority said the emergency work is necessary to ensure safer and more uninterrupted gas service in the future. The authority apologised for the temporary inconvenience caused to consumers.
