GAU tops among public universities in Bangladesh

Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) has once again claimed the top spot among public universities in Bangladesh in the URI Ranking 2025, excelling in the Technology and Development Applications and Global Top Innovative Universities categories.

According to the latest data published on Thursday (July 10) by University Ranking for Innovation (URI), GAU has been ranked 77th globally in the category of leading institutions contributing to technology and innovation. It also placed 331st among the top 400 innovative universities worldwide.

GAU was also ranked first in technology innovation among public universities in the URI Ranking 2024. Earlier this year, GAU earned top national positions in several other prestigious rankings, including the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Subject Ranking 2025 (Life Sciences category), the THE Asia Rankings 2025, and the THE Impact Rankings 2025.

GAU has consistently demonstrated academic and research excellence, previously topping the Simago Rankings in 2021 and 2022 and leading the QS Rankings in 2023 among Bangladeshi institutions.

Expressing pride in the achievement, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr GKM Mostafizur Rahman said, "This global recognition reflects the advancement of Bangladesh through agricultural science and technology. Our success is the result of continuous dedication to research, innovation, and practical knowledge."

He also thanked the government, the University Grants Commission (UGC), and other stakeholders for their continued support, crediting the achievement to the joint efforts of GAU's faculty, students, and staff.
