Gazette of 53 'July fighters' cancelled
The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has cancelled the gazette of 53 'July fighters' of Rangpur division in view of various complaints and inconsistencies with the list.
This information was given in a notification signed by Haridas Thakur, Deputy Secretary (Gazette) of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, on Monday.
The notification said that the government has cancelled the gazette of these 53 people from the 'July fighters' gazette of July Uprising 2024 by virtue of the powers conferred on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs under Section 11 (4) of the July Uprising Martyrs' Families and July Fighters Welfare and Rehabilitation Ordinance, 2025 (Ordinance No. 30, 2025) and Serial No. 23 of the Rules of Business 1996 Gi Schedule-1 (Allocation of Business). This order will come into effect immediately.
Earlier on August 3, the ministry issued a notification deleting the names of eight people from the list of martyrs.
