General MAG Osmani's 42nd death anniversary observed

The 42nd death anniversary of General MAG Osmani (Retd), supreme commander of the Muktijuddha forces during the great Liberation War, was observed with due dignity by the Bangladesh Army.

The information was provided in a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday.

According to the release, General Officer Commanding of the 17th Infantry Division and Area Commander of Sylhet Area Major General Md Alimul Amin, SUP, NDC, PSC, MPhil, paid floral tributes at the grave of General M A G Osmani (Retd) in Sylhet with full military honours.

A contingent of the Bangladesh Army presented a guard of honour during this time. Subsequently, prayers were offered seeking forgiveness for his departed soul and the welfare of the country and the nation.

Senior military officers of Sylhet Area, members of other ranks of the armed forces, local dignitaries and media personnel were present at the event.
