German ambassador meets water resources minister

German Ambassador to Dhaka Dr Rudiger Lotz paid a courtesy call on Water Resources Minister Md Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie at the minister's office at the Secretariat on Monday, April 20.

During the meeting, the water resources minister said Germany is one of Bangladesh's largest development partners. The current government is elected by the people's vote and is committed to working to fulfil public aspirations.

He sought Germany's cooperation in proper water resources management, river pollution prevention, flood control and waterlogging mitigation.

In response, Ambassador Dr Rudiger Lotz said Germany is interested in working together with Bangladesh to maintain water resources management and environmental balance. He also expressed interest in continuing cooperation with Bangladesh on this matter.

Water Resources Ministry Secretary Dr A K M Shahabuddin and German Embassy Head of Development Ulic Klepmann were present at the meeting.
